All the wands depicted in this gallery are of the "Fancy" category and were made as custom work. They are each priced at $225. In some cases, if special stones or crystals are desired, or if very elaborate carving is required, custom wands may be priced higher than this basic amount. Elma Elmarion - Our Old Elm
Elma Elmarion is a wand I made of the last small branch that the city authorities left when they destroyed our boulevard Elm due to Dutch elm disease. The disease is caused by a fungus carried by a beetle that gets under the bark. It is highly contagious and so Minneapolis and other cities throughout the U.S. are highly proactive in taking down trees when they show signs of the disease to slow its spread. This wand has a red carnelian reservoir stone, gold elm leaves carved on the handle, and a gold banner spiraling up the shaft inscribed with the wand's name in Elvish Artorin letters. Click the pictures to enlarge.
Artorin is the name in Eranor for the Elvish calligraphic script. See Runelore.
No. 701. Walnut Wolf Wand
Walnut with a core of spirit wolf hair, 18 inches. This wand has a point of snowflake obsidian set in the wolf's jaws and a reservoir stone of calcite. The handle is carved with oak leaves and acorns in high relief and the rune Tyr (which is also the riana Tinnë) is carved in relief on the top of the shaft. Click each photo for enlargments.

The T-rune Tyr or Tiwaz on the top, symbol of the male sex, masculine power, spiritual discipline, the will to succeed, self-sacrifice, justice.

No. 684. Old Pecan Wand with Solomonic Sigils
This wand was made from a branch given to me by an ancient pecan tree at Cahokia, the Mississipian Indian city across the river from St. Louis. Once a thriving civilization, now Cahokia consists only of the great mounds where we think temples and palaces once were built to worship the Sun-King. For some reason, best known to the Dryad of the tree, this wand wanted to be a Solomonic wand, inscribed with the sigils given in the Greater Key of Solomon for the creation of a magic wand.
The magical and angelic sigils are filled with gold paint and complemented by the swirling grain of the pearwood. Evocative of the power of the angelic hierarchies. The very glossy finish of this wand was achieved with violin varnish. Click photos to enlarge.

No. 598. Hazel Air Wand with Elvish Vines and Opal
19.25 inches, Gryffin feather, Pale Blue Opal reservoir. This one is one of my personal wands, dedicated to the element of Air. The dark blue middle section was dyed with ink at the request of the wand itself. The opal is a superb and unique specimen. It is carved in an Elvish vinery motif with acorns and oakleaves and has a splendid knot as can be seen below in the detail shots. Hazel is a superb wood of Air and imagination, most suitable for calling down the Awen, and ideal for work with Faeries.

No. 222 Unicorn Wand

A splendid two-tone design conceived by my apprentice Azrienoch. This wand has a handle in the shape of a horse's head and the shaft carved like a spiraling unicorn's horn. A lovely design which could also be done with a stone in the pommel.

No. 225 Two-tone Linden Wand with Interlace
This wand is of Linden wood, a splendid wood for love spells or spells of peace and contentment. It is very lightweight, yet strong. The handle is stained with a dark cherry color and carved with intricate interlace. The shaft is finished without stain for Linden's very light coloring. The variations possible on this theme are many. It captures the symbolism of light and darkness.

No. 586 Oak with Redcap Crystal
20.75 inches. Dragonscale core. This wand is grand and rustic in style with a massive redcap crystal reservoir and an amethyst point. It is carved with oakleaves, a wave motif, and both Alferic runes and Celtic ogham for "oak." A detail of the handle end below. A truly unique wand, which I include only for ideas. It would be next to impossible to come even close to this design, given the peculiarity of the stones.
